Spring Spring Spring. I am completely in love with the blooming orchards in the neck of woods. Although the ideal time to do engagement photos will be soon after you got engaged and can't wait to make the announcement.
Almond Blossom Engagement Shoot - If your idea of spring comprises of long drives and listen to romantic tunes, then this springtime shoot for your elopement is perfect. It is spontaneous, fun and filled with blossoming almond trees as your backdrop. Now who can resist visiting such an enchanting place?
Key to any amazing engagement photo shoot is the location. It should speak to you and describe the essence of your relationship. I have had the opportunity to shoot in a variety of locations but this blossom inspired photo shoot is by far my favourite. It was truly magical to capture the purity of Kimmi & Terry's love amidst falling petals of almonds. So all Alice in Wonderland fans out there, plan your perfect day around springtime. Spring in Bay Area has arrived a tad early this year so if you are looking for magical and fun pictures, you have to act now as the fruit petals shed very fast.
If you are going to be shooting in a garden, a park or a location like this orchard, wear neutral colours. I am a big fan of pastels like turquoise blue, pink, ivory etc but if bright colours are your thing then bring it on. However, avoid bold graphics or patterns for obvious reasons:).
Incorporate fun with your shoot as almond orchards offer an idyllic location to bring in your picnic blanket and sandwiches.
Yes, and it's highly recommended to seek permission from the farm owners. Remember trespassers are prosecuted. Also be mindful of the farm dogs and bees. Although we do have access to an amazing farmer from Hughson, CA and Brentwood area. So get in touch if you would like to schedule your photo session with us.
Whilst we started shooting early on in the afternoon, the clouds started rolling in which I personally love. To retain the details in the clouds, I used an off camera flash evolv 200 on a rapid octabox where possible. The other challenge I had set for myself was to use my tilt shift lens for portraits. Results were very distinct so here are some more beautiful couples engagement photographs for you to scroll through.
